NBDIP 2017 Program Schedule

Note: The following dates are all in 2017.

January 20 Applications for 2016-2017 NBDIP program released. Application materials available for download online at choosecincy.com
January- February NBD groups/communities work with Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) staff to identify projects and complete required pre-application for funding request.
March 3 Mandatory pre-applications due by 5:00 PM to Gerald Fortson, Two Centennial Plaza, 805 Central Ave., Suite 710, Cincinnati, OH 45202 or ernailed to Gerald.Fortson(a 'cincinnati-oh.gov .
City and CNBDU screen pre-applications to determine NBD program eligibility. DCED notifies applicants regarding status of pre-application.
March 15 Architecture and Urban Design (AUD) will review pre-applications with community representatives at 5:30 PM at Two Centennial Plaza, 805 Central Avenue, Griesel Room, 7th Floor. City reviews pre-applications and provides communities with feedback on project feasibility, scope of work, cost, etc.
February – April NBD groups/communities work with DCED staff to complete final versions of applications/proposals. Applicants inform community councils of projects and request a letter of support.
April 21 3 hard copies of final funding applications due to Gerald Fortson, Two Centennial Plaza, 805 Central Ave., Suite 710, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202, due by 5:00 PM. Late submittals will not be accepted. DCED reviews applications and determines appropriate funding sources. Projects advanced to City Departments for review and to CNBDU for evaluation.
May 13 Citywide Bus Tour of Project Proposal Locations - 8:00 AM to approx. 1:00 PM. Representation is mandatory for communities making grant requests. Bus will depart from City Hall parking lot on 9th Street at 8:00 AM.
May 22-24 Presentations – Each applicant makes a 15-minute presentation to CNBDU and DCED staff, followed by a short Q&A period. Presentations are scheduled Monday–Wednesday from 6 PM to as late as 9:30 PM, if necessary. Location is Griesel Room, 7th Floor, Two Centennial Plaza, 805 Central Avenue.
June CNBDU Board makes recommendations to City and formal notification letters emailed to all applicants. City Council sets FY2018 City budget and communities notified of Council's action.
July-August Funds become available to begin projects. Projects that are on private property must wait until Council approves public purpose ordinance.
